Olive Oil, Wine Experience and Old Tuna Fishing Village from Siracusa
Today you are greeted at your hotel in Siracusa and driven through the countryside of the “Val di Noto”. Here sunny hills and the coastal plains are all cultivated with grapevines, olive groves, wheat, fruit and vegetables. Typical dry stone walls delimit the countryside roads.
Our first stop is an Olive Oil Farm. We start with a guided tour in the olive groves and in the olive oil mill where we will explore techniques and stages of extra virgin olive oil production from harvesting to processing. At the end of the tour we will taste different varieties of oil paired by small snacks.
We drive then to a Winery Estate to enjoy a relaxing time savoring wines and local products at the dining room or outdoor in a pic-nic style. (Wine tasting and light lunch included).
After lunch, a few kilometers away directly overlooking the sea, the fisherman village of Marzamemi will captivate you. The village extends around the harbor and it is characterized by narrow streets and little stone houses with roof tiles and colored windows, while a large square is the center of the town. Once fishermen were used to practice tuna fishing and today the Tonnara is still well visible. Enjoy a nice walk in the old town, full of characteristic restaurants that animate the square, surrounded by the ocean and the breeze.
At the end of the tour you will be driven back to your hotel.
